چکیده

Effects of addition of a mycotoxin detoxifier in poultry feed were studied in broilers. Aflatoxins were present in the poultry feed as 28 ppb (normal feed), 78 ppb (contaminated feed) and 170 ppb (highly contaminated feed). The mycotoxin detoxifier was used in 3 concentrations i.e. 1, 3 and 5 kg/ton of feed. Aflatoxins reduced the body weight in broiler chicken and treatment of contaminated feed with low level of detoxifier improved the body weight equivalent to that of normal feed. Higher level of detoxifier proved better than lower level addition in alleviating the effects of highly contaminated feed. Addition of detoxifier also resulted in improvement of FCR to the level of normal feed. Antibody levels against Newcastle disease virus on day 28 of age were significantly lower in chicken fed on contaminated feed. Addition of detoxifier in feed improved the antibody levels in chicken. Mortality was highest in groups given contaminated feed throughout the study period of 7 weeks. Significant mortality was also observed in groups given highly contaminated feed for 2 weeks. Mortality in chicken given detoxifier added contaminated feed was lowest and similar to the group given normal feed. The study shows that mycotoxin detoxifier containing oxyquinol, dichloro-thymol and micronized yeast can effectively neutralize the ill-effects of aflatoxins in poultry feed. (Asian-Aust. J. Anim. Effects of Different Levels of Fish Oil Supplementation on Performance of Broilers

Six hundred day old unsexed broiler chicks were used in a 42-d trial at Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Science University Poultry Farm to compare the effects of different levels of fish oil supplementation on performance of broilers in terms of feed intake, weight gain and feed conversion and carcass characteristics. The chicks were randomly distributed following a completely randomized desig...

Evaluation of Enzyme and Probiotic Supplemention in Diet Containing Different Levels of Energy on Growth Performance, Body Composition and net Energy Improvment in Broiler Chickens with Wheat-Soybean Meal Diet

Extended Abstract Introduction and Objective: The most important factor in adjusting poultry feed consumption is energy, which is correlated with feed cost. The net energy system is more accurate and useful for measuring the energy utilization of poultry. The presence of anti-nutritional compounds such as non-starch polysaccharides (NSPs) and phytate compounds in some poultry feed items ...

Meta-analytical study of productive and nutritional interactions of mycotoxins in broilers.

A meta-analysis was carried out to study the association of mycotoxins with performance, productive indices, and organ weights in broilers. Ninety-eight papers published between 1980 and 2009 were used, totaling 1,401 diets and 37,371 animals. Meta-analysis followed 3 sequential analyses: graphical, correlation, and variance-covariance. The mycotoxin presence in diets reduced (P < 0.05) feed in...

Effects of Mega Doses of Phytase on Growth Performance, Bone Status and Nutrient Excretion of Broilers Fed Diets Containing High Levels of Rice Bran

Phytate in poultry rations containing rice bran (RB) critically reduce poultry performance while increasing N and P excretion. The objective of this study was to determine whether the anti-nutritive problems associated with higher inclusions of rice bran in poultry rations (up to 40%) could be mitigated with mega doses of phytase. Twenty days old male broiler chicks (n=180) in 60 floor pens wer...
